Prayer «God, cleanse me sinner»: the text, how to read

Prayer to me is not just words. This is an appeal to God, the unity of the soul with the heavenly powers.

In the morning, just waking up, I say a prayer, as a sign that I am ready to do good things, but I need only divine help. Today I will tell you what prayers I read in the morning, and why they are so important.

Morning prayers

In fact, reading prayers is not just an arbitrary utterance of words addressed to God or some saint. Deeply religious people indignantly refer to those who read prayers, where and when it is necessary.

Beginners, on the contrary, cannot even pronounce texts in the language in which prayers are written.

In addition, there is a certain prayer rule — this is a list of prayers intended for the evening and for the morning. For example, the well-known prayer “Our Father” is the main appeal, with which the day can begin and end. This prayer must be read before breakfast.

A rule of prayer cannot be the same for everyone: someone has the opportunity to devote the right amount of time to morning prayers, while others don’t.

One thing is important here: the prayer rule can even be very short, but it must be observed necessarily. It is believed that even a five-minute morning prayer, read from the heart, and not formally, is sufficient for a person to be called a good Christian.

The most important thing is the correspondence of thoughts and readable words.

Morning prayers must include reading commemoration. At this time, they are praying for the peace, health of their relatives and just people who are somehow related to your life.

It is also important to remember your ill-wishers in order to wish them well.

The prayer of Macarius the Great «God cleanse», as, indeed, his other prayers are mostly morning prayers. It is she who possesses tremendous power, because this saint was known for his good deeds.

Why pray?

Every Christian believer, rising in the morning, must begin his day with appeals to God. This is done in order to:

  • focus on the new day.
  • get heaven’s patronage for the whole day.
  • prioritize correctly.
  • get rid of or at least minimize the stresses that arise at work.

Rules for believers

It is allowed to pray at least in Russian, at least in Church Slavonic — who knows how. As a result, every person who considers himself a believer must work out certain rituals.

These include:

  • obligatory prayers every day.
  • veneration of icons and holy relics.
  • necessarily wearing a cross, and not at all as an ornament.
  • Celebration of Christian dates and celebration of saints.
  • pilgrimages, observance of fasting, obeisances before icons and shrines.

It is important to remember that it is better not to miss the morning prayers, it is also impossible to put words in places. No need to hurry and fuss, reading a prayer.

It is important to understand the essence of the spoken words and sentences. You need to pray in silence so as not to be distracted by sounds from the outside — radio, TV, telephone.

Macarius the Great

Saint Macarius the Great is the author of many Orthodox prayers and conversations, an Orthodox miracle worker and a hermit. He was born in about 300 years in Lower Egypt. His parents lived to old age, not having children.

When the young man grew up, he was married.

He married, rather, at the request of his parents, but his family life was not long, and he soon became a widower. Then his parents were gone. Macarius decided that he would no longer need all his property, distributed it to the poor and went into the wilderness.

There lived a lonely old man, who was very happy to shelter a guest. During this period, the old man preached worship to Macarius as a science, and at the same time they wove baskets together.

A little later, they built a separate dwelling nearby for Macarius. So a few years have passed.

Then the path of Macarius lay to St. Anthony, who was the father of a hermit in Egypt. The parish of Macarius pleased the monk, whose disciple and follower he became.

This period lasted quite a long time. Much later, following the advice of his mentor, Macarius went to the Skete wilderness.

He showed himself as a monk with a wealth of experience, and this despite the fact that he was only 30 years old! In addition, he skillfully healed and healed people who came and came to him even from afar.

Such a lifestyle did not give him the desired solitude, and he created such a place for himself.

It was a cave, which he personally dug under his dwelling. There, he hid from the whole world to read prayers and reflections on God.

He achieved such boldness in this that by the power of his prayers he learned to resurrect the dead. At the same time, he himself remained a man of utter humility.

In the period from 364 to 378, Macarius the Great was persecuted by Archbishop Luke. Together with Macarius of Alexandria, he was taken by ship to an uninhabited island, which was inhabited by pagans.

Both saints were not supposed to survive on this island. However, they not only survived, but healed the daughter of the main priest. After that, the inhabitants of the island were baptized.

Even the bishop himself, having learned of the exploits of the saints, decided to return to them.

After this, Macarius the Great lived for another 60 years in the wilderness desert in constant prayers, labors and repentance. All his life experience resulted in numerous prayers and spiritual conversations. They became the great heritage of the great saint and were translated into many languages of the world.

Their main themes are Christian love, patience, purity, and spiritual perfection.

Their basic rule is faith, a life without sin, according to the commandments.

The saint died at an old age of 90 or 97 years old — here information varies.

1 for Christians — the day of memory and celebration of this miracle worker. On this day, a church service is held in his honor and akathist reading.

Nicknamed the wonderworker, Macarius the Great, in fact, created many good deeds, truly miraculous. For example, once a girl was brought to him. She was blind and, moreover, they were said to be possessed by the devil.

Her father had been searching for various medicines for a long time and to no avail in order to cure her. Nothing helped, and she was led to the old man in the desert.

As a result, she received her sight and got rid of the devil’s obsession.

There are about 50 cases of healing like this.
